Our mission at WBWK – 95.7 – The Kraken is to be your community radio station. That means being deeply embedded in the heart of Brunswick, celebrating our local culture, and amplifying the voices that make our town so unique. We want to be the soundtrack to your Brunswick experience, and we’re working hard to get there.
Once we’re officially on the air, you can expect to see our broadcast team at as many local events as possible! Imagine live interviews with local artists, business owners, and community leaders, on-the-ground reports from festivals and sporting events, and broadcasting the sounds of Brunswick – from local bands playing live to the buzz of our vibrant community.
Catch Us at First Fridays!
One of our absolute favorite local traditions is the Downtown Brunswick First Fridays. The energy, the music, the local vendors, the community coming together – it’s what Brunswick is all about! And we’re excited to announce that we’ll be a consistent presence at every First Friday event, even before we hit the airwaves.
Come find our team at our booth! We’ll be there to chat about our plans, answer your questions, and share our vision for Brunswick’s new community radio station. This is your chance to learn more about WBWK – 95.7 The Kraken, how you can get involved, and why we’re so passionate about bringing local radio back to Brunswick. We Need Your Help to Get on Air!
The excitement is building, and we’re so close to launching WBWK – 95.7 – The Kraken. The FCC has already granted us a Construction Permit for our Low Power FM station, which is a huge step! However, getting a community radio station fully on the air, with all the necessary equipment and infrastructure, requires significant investment and community support.

- Help Us Find Our Home! To truly serve Brunswick, we need a physical space to build our studios and offices. To start, we’re looking for a dedicated room where we can set up our initial studio equipment to begin streaming our local content. While we’re open to possibilities, we’d prefer to be located in Downtown Brunswick, to truly be at the heart of the community. Our ultimate goal, however, is to secure a space of 2,000 square feet or more, allowing us to build out multiple studios, a production room, and administrative offices to fully support our operations and community engagement.
